Completion of the Research Project on the Design and Production of a Four-Contact Trip Relay, Lockout Relay and Supervision Relay

The research project on the design and production of a four-contact trip relay, a lockout relay and a supervision relay has been completed at Rizmooj Electric Toos. The client of the project was the Deputy for Planning and Research of Khorasan Regional Electric Company.

Test and Acceptance Meeting

On 28 Mehr 1405 (20 October 2026), a meeting was held at the Rizmooj Electric Toos premises. Representatives of the Research and Planning Office, the Operations Deputy and the Development Projects Deputy of Khorasan Regional Electric Company attended as project supervisors. The trip relay designed in the project was tested in their presence and received their approval.

Key Features of the Trip Relay

  • High breaking capacity
  • High make and break current: tested at 11.5 A at 110 V DC
  • Break time of 7 ms
  • The make and break current is the same for resistive and inductive loads. The required tests were carried out in the presence of the client's representatives.

A Note on the Test Limit

The 11.5 A breaking current at 110 V DC is the limit of the power supplies available in the laboratory. With a higher-power 110 V DC supply, the relay is capable of breaking DC currents above this limit as well.

The breaking capacity demonstrated for an inductive load of 11.5 A at 110 V DC is clearly higher than that of common trip relays such as those from Siemens, Arteche and similar manufacturers.
